On April 17, 2026, Governor Newsom issued a State of Emergency Proclamation for the Early January 2026 Storms, affecting Sonoma County. From December 31, 2025, to January 4, 2026, strong winter storms hit Sonoma County. The storms happened at the same time as very high King Tides, which caused creeks and streams to overflow and flood places that do not usually flood. The storms also broke levees and damaged neighborhoods, roads, and public buildings like pump stations and utility buildings. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. The Plan does not expect to have any issues with our regular day to day operations. We will continue to be available to members. This includes after hours and on the weekend. In late December 2025, a series of strong storms hit California and caused a State of Emergency in six counties. The storms brought heavy rain, mountain snow, and strong winds from December 16 through December 26. They also damaged highways in Mendocino, Sonoma, and Ventura Counties and caused flooding, mudslides, and a higher risk of debris flows in Ventura County. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. The Plan does not expect to have any issues with our regular day to day operations. The storm brought heavy rain, strong winds, and serious flooding. It caused flooding and debris to overwhelm drainage systems, damage roads and bridges, and close roads and disrupt traffic. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. The Plan does not expect to have any issues with our regular day to day operations. On November 13 and 14, 2025, a strong rainstorm hit Santa Barbara and Santa Cruz Counties. The storm was so heavy that local drains could not handle all the water. This caused damage to roads, built up debris, blocked drains, and led to a mudslide in Scotts Valley within Santa Cruz County. As of this date, Liberty Dental Plan (Liberty) has not been impacted by this incident. The Plan does not expect to have any issues with our regular day to day operations. Some large buildings collapsed, and roads and sidewalks were also damaged by heat, falling debris, and firefighting work. The City of Arcata is now working to make the area safe, control dust, and check for possible asbestos and water pollution.
