LIBERTY Dental Advances Innovative Approach to Oral Health by Empowering Physicians to Provide Flouride Varnish

IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LIBERTY Dental Plan (LIBERTY) continues to innovate and be a champion for whole health by partnering with the Center for Oral Health, Health Net Dental, Access Dental Plans and medical providers in the program, Early Smiles, Sacramento. This new program will help increase the number of children receiving fluoride varnish in the Sacramento area – a critical treatment that helps prevent further dental issues later in life.

This Sacramento based program is holding a free Continuing Medical Education (CME) training for physicians on how to apply the fluoride varnish Thursday, January 12, at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.

The implementation of this program is believed to be a true demonstration by Geographic Managed Care (GMC) Dental Plans to address children’s lack of oral health checkups – and treatment. Ultimately, the training schedule will be further developed with the program goal of positively impacting 12,000 children in the first year.
